Thanksgiving

"On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the LORD: Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His Holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD! Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore! Remember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgements of His mouth, O seed of Israel His servant, you children of Jacob, His chosen ones! 1 Chronicles 16:7-13 (Psalm 105:1-6)
Thanksgiving - Not just a holiday we celebrate once a year. It should be a daily public acknowledgment or celebration of divine goodness. In other words, we should daily be thanking God for His Goodness and His Presence in our lives.
The above verses express how we should give praise and thanksgiving back to God. How often do we get caught up in our worries and fears or trials of life that we forget all the good things the Lord has done? David encouraged the Israelites to not only give thanks to God but to tell others about the good works that God did in their lives. We are to "Sing to Him", "Glory in His name", "Rejoice in our hearts", and "Remember His marvelous works." When we take the focus off of ourselves and put our focus on God, we cannot help but to rejoice.
I encourage you, along with myself, to "GIVE THANKS & REJOICE"!
