Family

This past Thursday relatives started to arrive at the house for our 2nd annual Stone Family reunion. Thursday night brought my Aunt Lyn, Uncle Jerry, Cousin Janeil, and their family friend, Rose from Newark, Ohio. Friday night brought my Aunt Sherry from Tampa, Florida. Saturday brought my cousin Nikki and her three children Kara, Cameron and Culin, plus their cousin's (my cousin's once removed) Kayla, Lexi, and Zechariah.
Thursday night nothing special happened. Friday the family minus me (I had to work), my parents and my sister, Amy went to Niagara Falls to enjoy one of the seven wonders of the world, Niagara Falls. Later in the evening they all went to see WALLE at the Drive in Theatre in Lockport. I would have like to go to the movie but I got home from work to late. When I did come home I did get to enjoy a delicious dinner made by my uncle Jerry. He made some sort of cheesy chicken and spaghetti with homemade sauce. Umm Good!
Saturday morning I woke up my aunts to head out to JCPenney's. The store was having great sale. I did get a few outfits. Since I only had an hour (my sister, Cassandra, warned me I had to have everyone home by 11am) I never made it out of the woman's department. That is okay because I spent enough in that department.
When we got home the festivities began(well not quite at 11 because Nikki and the kids were a little late). My dad got the grill going to grill sausages and hamburgers. Cassandra had the bonfire pit going to roast corn on the cob. I had made macaroni salad the night before and mom made knox blocks (from jello) before we left for JCPenney's. We ate around noon and everyone got their fill.
Before lunch we had to guess how much candy was in 4 candy jars Cassandra had put together for the day. The person closest to guessing got the jar. Needless to say I did not win any of the jars.
After lunch I took pictures of the kids. I had been taking pictures of other stuff already during the day. But the kids know that I will have them pose for me. I am excited to say that the photos came out great.
Also after lunch we had a treasure hunt. Cassandra divided all the family up into four teams. Then gave us the first clue of 12. We had to find our next clue by figuring out the first one. If you found the treasure before you had all the clues you could not open it. Everyone had a great time with the treasure hunt. Cassandra had us back and forth across our property several times. I have never seen my dad run so much. It was neat to see each team work together to solve the clues. When all twelve clues were collected you got the treasure. It was a cooler fill with candy, stuffed animals and other fun stuff.
After the treasure hunt Cassandra made cotton candy with the kids while the adults sat around and talked. Plus we were trying to cool down from all the running during the treasure hunt.
It was a wonderful afternoon. I am looking forward to next years reunion. Hopefully more family will be able to join us.
Until next time~
Blessings to you
