How wonderful it is to not have to wake up and get ready for work. I did have a better night sleep last night. I woke up at 5:30am and read in Esther for a little while. God did some amazing events in the life of Esther. I did go back to bed and woke up to a text message from a friend at 7:30am. The text got me out of bed and I headed down to the water to enjoy the morning sunshine and quietness of the start of the day.
So far today we have just sat around. I have been reading a good book by Lori Wick. It is a Christian Romance book but the author has put some thought provoking tidbits in the story. I am always impressed when a writer can share Christ in their writing.
It is about lunch time. I think we will be headed into Alexandria Bay this afternoon to do some sight seeing and shopping. Should be fun!
Until next time!
Blessings to you!!

At the mention of His Name
This morning when I was sitting on the dock down by the water, I was writing some thoughts down in my journal. It was about not being jealous or envious when a person's name was mentioned in my presence. As I wrote the Lord showed me some things about how I react to the name of Jesus. Do I react with excitement? Would a person know how much I love Jesus if they were to mention His Name in my presence? Do I cringe when they use His name in vain or do I just pass it off as not important?
I do not want to be nonchalant about my relationship with Jesus. He found me and made me His own. I am bought with a price. That price was His death on the cross. He died for my sins and I should be grateful. I am grateful but do others know. From now on, I want to be excited at the mention of HIS NAME. Jesus~~ there is no other name that could mean more to me.
Blessings to you!

Day one~ Thousand Islands
After a almost decent night of sleep, I woke up to watch the Chapel service online with Karin, Karen and John. The service was great (aside from the computer screen freezing up every so often.) There was a guest speaker, Robert Stearns. He spoke from the book of Esther. It was nice to be able to discuss the sermon with everyone while it was going on. We had a few good laughs at the screen freezing up.
After the service we all ate breakfast and decided it would be a good idea to go swimming. I am thankful we picked up a couple of pool noodles at Walmart last night. It helps when you are in the water, since I could not touch the bottom. Karen had her mask, snorkel and fins. She was having a good time seeing stuff under water. We were in the water for about 45 minutes. The sun was shining and there was a nice breeze off the water to help dry our swimsuits. After a little while we did come in to make lunch and brought it back out to the dock.
The sun made me tired so I came back inside to take a good nap. It was nice to be able to relax and have nothing else to do. When I woke up, I did my nails (something I haven't done in a long time) and my friend, Jeff called to see how we were doing.
Jackie and Jim arrived around 6:30-7:00pm. We unloaded Jackie's car, put all the food away and then we all sat down for dinner. Karin baked chicken and we had fresh green beans with tuna salad and fruit. Delicious!!
About two hours earlier a major storm came through the area and while we were eating the sun came out and we were blessed with the sight of a beautiful rainbow. Actually a double rainbow
God is so Good!!
Well, it is late and I have to go.
Until next time
Blessings to you!
I have arrived
Yesterday, Karin, Karen & John all met at my house to head out to the Thousand Islands. Everyone was concerned about how we were going to get all the luggage in the trunk of my car. I managed to get 6 suitcases, 1 tackle box, 1 cooler, a case of Pepsi, a loaf of bread, helmet and miscellaneous other items into the trunk of my car. Not sure how, but we did get the trunk closed without smashing the bread. Karen hooked up her bike rack to the trunk of my car and put her bike along with Jim's bike on the rack. She also bungeed John's fishing rod and net to the bikes. Let me say my car was loaded. Now I just had to get the people in my car.
John sat in the front seat with his laptop. Karin and Karen sat in the back seat with Karin's laptop and my camera. (I could not forget my camera that would not have been good.) I had my mom come outside to take a picture and pray with us and then we were on the road by 11am. (The estimated departure time. Yeah!!!)
I was told we needed to stop for coffee, so the at the first rest area there was a Tim Horton's. I pulled into the rest area and we had to wait about 40 minutes for our beverages. By noon we were back on the road.
The trip took us a little over four hours. The weather was not the greatest for driving in, but I managed to get everyone to 5 Bayview Drive in one piece. I had to drive in a lot of heavy rain. I was glad to be driving because I don't know how I would have been as a passenger. Everyone in the car was great about me driving. Yeah!!
We arrived at the cottage around 4pm. Margaret, the owner of the cottage, was waiting for our arrival at the house. She is a precious older woman. She pointed out some of the details of the cottage. It is an amazing cottage right on the water. There are five bedrooms, three bathrooms, living area, kitchen, dining room, sunroom, three car garage and front/back porch. We were all in awe of the cottage. It was not like anything we ever expected. I am thankful that I could be here and that we arrived safely.
Until next time, Blessings to you~
Ps, When I get home I will put pictures up.

Getting Ready
This week has been busy. Tonight I am suppose to be packing for my trip to the Thousand Islands tomorrow. I am somewhat packed. I will be gone a week and am not sure just how much to pack, plus my car will be the one being used and I will have four people and all the luggage. Will it all fit? I am not sure. I guess tomorrow I will find out. Karin and I are having dilemmas on what to bring and what not to bring. I hope we don't forget anything. Well, I must go. It is late and I really do need my rest before tomorrow especially if I will be driving. Until next time.

Brad's Birthday

On Sunday Brad Weaver's mom put together a 40th birthday party for Brad at her house out in Eden near 18 mile creek. I rode with Karin and Bill to the party. We arrive a couple hours after the party started, but Brad was kind enough to take us down to the waterfalls. How Beautiful!!! God truly is an amazing God to display His handiwork for all of us to see and appreciate.
During our walk we noticed the rumbling of thunder and the sky becoming a bit darker. Yet, Karin, Bill, Brad and I were able to enjoy the scenic beauty of Brad's mom's property. At one point Bill found a tree he could somewhat climb. However, there needed to be a warning sign because he almost fell off because the branch broke.
When we arrived back at the house, everyone was drying out from the first hike and just relaxing while waiting for dinner. Brad's brother prepared all the food. He made some of the best homemade macaroni and cheese I have ever tasted. Maybe it was all the butter in it. It was delicious. Some of the group pooled money together to get Brad a 4 cycle weed wacker for his birthday. Let me just say he was thr
illed. He was like a kid in a candy store. The day ended with cake and ice cream. Plus a little bit of rain. Bill, Karin and I left around 8pm. By the time I arrived home I was exhausted and ready to go to bed. Now it is the end of another week and I am looking forward to a great vacation. Until next time. Blessings to you.

Jim's Birthday

On Saturday afternoon I went to Hamlin Park in East Aurora for a surprise party for my friend, Jim McGee. His wife, Susan, got together a lot of the TNF Singles group from the Chapel. Most of the friends arrived around 3:30 with Jim arriving at around 4pm. We all asked Susan how she planned the party. She said she told Jim there was this thing in East Aurora that he just had to be at (since there is always things happening in East Aurora.) We all had a good laugh.
When Jim arrived he thought it strange that a woman he didn't know (at least that is what he thought was taking pictures of him as he walked toward the shelter where the party was taking place. Then he realized it was me and the look on his face was priceless.
George, Lance, Jim and Nate all had a great time eating their cake. It had been a long time since all the guys were together. George had really wanted to surprise Jim. It was great to see old friends together again.

Family

When I got home with my new camera, I had my sister, Cassandra, read the directions on how to operate the camera. What a blessing she was to me on Saturday! While she was figuring out my camera I was writing out support letters.
I found out I had to charge the battery for two hours (thankfully I had two hours before I had to leave for a birthday party.) You better believe I got the battery in the charger on the wall. After two hours, right before I left for the birthday party I had to try my camera out. What better way to test my camera, than to take photos of my beautiful nieces, Dakota, Anna, and Phoenix. I had Anna & Dakota sit in the laundry basket. This shot is the best of three shots that I took. Phoenix is a little cutie pie. She is alert and smiling at 5months. I have to make sure I take more photos of her. Well, these are my nieces, I hope you enjoyed the photos. Blessings to you!

Camera
This past weekend I was blessed. I was shopping in Walmart after playing tennis for two hours. I had a list of items I needed to purchase for the week. One of the items was film for a trip I will be taking at the end of the week to the Thousand Islands. I was in the photo department getting some reprints done and then I picked up the film I needed. As I was walking by the digital cameras, I noticed the display model of the camera I had been eyeing for the past month was gone. Then I lookied below to where the price tag was and much to my delight the camera was on clearance. The regular price was $550 and the clearance price was $350. I went right back to the film counter and asked the sales associate if they had any more of the cameras in stock. I was getting a little nervous especially after he said it might be the display model. Did I really want to spend that kind of money on a display. Not really! Anyways the associate came back with two cameras, I chose one and said tell me what I need to get started. So I got my digital camera much to my delight and the delight of a few of my friends. I was glad I waited to purchase because it saved me a couple hundred dollars. Praise the Lord!!
Needless to say I did not purchase the film I had earlier put in my cart. !! :)

Support
Today I sent out my support letters for a missions trip I will be taking in October. I will be going to Juarez, Mexico to with at least 10 other singles from the MOSAIC singles group at the Chapel. The support letter was sent out to ask for prayer and financial support for the trip. Each individual who goes on the trip has to raise $1,000.00 for airfare and accomodations.
We will be helping a ministry called Harvest Hands Ministries (www.harvesthandsministries.org). "Harvest Hands Ministries supports and develops programs that preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, feed the hungry and give relief to the oppressed."
I am excited about being a part of furthering the gospel in Mexico. Please pray for me as I prepare over the next few months. It will be a growing time for me. Thank you!
Blessings to You!!

Bill's Birthday Bash

Thought I would share some photos from the party I held at my house last Saturday. Everyone had a great time and here are some photos to prove it.
Bill's birthday CakeBill likes going to the races and watching the NASCAR races on TV so I thought it befitting to have a race car track on his cake with race cars. He loved it. Even as adults I think inside we all want to act like little kids.

Bill brought his hacky sack and had some of us haking at it with him. Boy, did we find muscles we forgot we had. Her is Jim trying to prove that he can Hacky sack with the best. The picture to the left makes Bill look like he trying a Karate move.
Julie and Alan had a great time with us. Alana was showing her mommy the slug on the side of the slide. Now if it was my niece, Dakota, she would have been screaming. All in All it was a great party.

Memories from the past

Here are some of the photos from when I went to the races in Little Valley with Bill, Jim and Karin. We had a great night. I am so thankful that the photos came out great.

It was amazing watching the cars take the turns of the race track. At one point the announcer said the cars were going as fast as 104mph in the straight away. Pretty fast if you ask me. But who is asking me anyways :)

The lead car in the picture to your right is the car that won one of the races. Karin and I were very excited because the car (#32) that was trying to win was not very nice to a driver in an earlier race.

It was a fun evening. I am glad I was asked. Now you all were able to see some of the action. Hope you all enjoyed.
Blessings to you!

Too Early to be up
t has been a great week. It has been a busy week at least work has been busy. I can hardly believe I will be on vacation in a week. Yeah!!
This week I went to dinner with two good friends. On Tuesday night I was suppose to go watch my friend, Bill play softball. I was really looking forward to the game (especially after the time I had at work that day.) Well, anyways the game was canceled due to all the rain we had that day and evening. After work Bill called to let me know about the canceled game. I was a bit bummed but such was how the day was going. Well, anyways when he got home, he called to check up on how my day went. After 5 times of our call being disconnected we decided to meet for dinner. We went to TGIFridays. I had a great time and a great dinner (pecan crusted chicken salad) Umm good!!
Wednesday night I met up with Adam (Bill's friend) at the Clarence Center Coffee House. We were finally exchanging Christmas presents. I received 4 containers of tennis balls and dinner, while he received a Mr. Potato Head, an etch a sketch, a kite and a few other small gadgets. We had an enjoyable two hours of conversation.
Last night I went to MOSAIC. Pastor Deone told the story of the Prodigal Son from the younger son's perspective. He did a great job of communicating How Shocking the story really is. After MOSAIC I organized a group of my friends to go bowling. We had a great time. I actually did well for the evening with scores of 144 and 133. Now it is early and I need to head off to work.
Until next time!

How?
"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from your, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Ephesians 4: 31-32
When someone hurts you, do you lash out at them? Do you want to throw mud? Do you want to give as good as it has been given to you? According to the verses above, that is not what God would require of His children. He wants us to put away all bitterness, wrath and evil speaking and learn to speak in love. You may say that God sure does require a lot from me. How can I speak in love, when I have just been hurt by someone I thought cared about me? It is just not easy.
God doesn't want you to do it by yourself. He wants you to ask Him for help. He will give you the strength you need to speak in love. He will help you to be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving. Just ask HIM, He is listening and willing to help.
From personal experience, it is not always easy. I have learned to let God be in control of my life. When He is in the driver's seat, I do not have to worry. He will take care of me. If He is willing to take care of me, I am sure He will take care of you.

Burgers, Bonfires, & Blessings
Yes, It has been since last Wednesday since I wrote. So much has happened, where do I begin?
The work week ended with a Thunderstorm and we lost power at the bank. Thankfully the power came back on so that the tellers could balance and we all could go home. Fridays are a long day and the quicker we can balance the quicker I can be at home relaxing.
Thursday night at MOSAIC was wonderful. Pastor Deone spoke on money. Not about tithing but about what you do with the other 90%. Since it is all God's money are we being good stewards of what He has entrusted to us. I know I was challenged. Pastor Deone also mentioned are we good stewards of our time and talents. Are we using everything God has given us to bring Him Glory? If not, why not? I know there are times when I need to remember what should have top priority in my life.
Friday I was at work from 8:30am- 7:30pm. I did have a 2 hour lunch from 12-2. In the evening I hung with my family and played on the computer. I know, I should have blogged a bit. I just was not in the mood to blog.
Saturday found me up and out of the house by 6:55am. I went to a drill clinic at the Village Glen from 7:30 to 9:30. It was a good clinic. After the clinic I went to get my hair cut. It looks good. My stylist did not take a lot off, which is good because it is at a length I like. After the haircut, I had some shopping to do for the picnic I was having later in the day. When I got home I had to decorate a birthday cake, wash dishes, put up two tents and take a shower. It was hectic.
On to the picnic--25 people came out to my parents house for a picnic and bonfire. Some of us played volleyball, UNO, paddle ball, and hackey sack. Hackey sack was interesting. I know I felt like a kungfu artist. I guess that is better than saying I felt like a fool. Bill was the best. He had a lot of practice while the rest of us were just novices. He was glad we all participated. Part of the evening was to celebrate Bill's 35th birthday. We had cake & ice cream and he received some nice gifts. The bonfire was a success and it was warm.
Yesterday, was truly a day of rest for me. I went to church in the morning to hear a great message about Fathers. After the service a few of my friends and I went for lunch. I came home to rest. Which after a few days of late nights and early mornings, my body needed the rest.
Today was uneventful. Work was busy and I was glad when the end of the day came.
That is all for now. My brain is tired.
Blessings to you!

All is well
Well, it has been a couple days since I last wrote anything. I have been very busy and right now I have to head off to work. I will try to get on later and tell all.
One thing I can say is that I am thankful that God Saves. Without Him I am nothing and with Him I am a child of the KING. How AWESOME is that statement!!! I hope you know Him.

Chicken with her head cut off
Have you ever felt like you were continually busy but accomplishing nothing? Well, I have. Especially these last couple of days. Work has been hectic! This week is payroll and we are installing a new system (which I am a part of both). Plus I am still training another person one of the functions I have been doing since January. Ugh!!!
Yesterday and today, two other officers of the bank and myself were learning the administrative side of a new system the CSR's will be working with starting next week. Let me just say, I am overwhelmed. There is so much to learn. In time it will be a benefit to the bank, it is just that change has a way of sometimes complicating things. Tomorrow starts the training of the CSR's on the new system. I will be sitting through three 2 hour sessions. I hope I can stay awake.
To relieve some of the stress, tonight when I got home I mowed the lawn in preparation for a party I will be hosting on Saturday. I also rearranged the wood pile. I had my brother, Daniel, help me. I think he will be burning some of the small wood tonight. To top the evening, I broke the lawnmower by accidentally running over a rock. Just Great!! :( I am sure my dad, sister and brother will be thrilled with me.
That is about all for now. Please keep me in prayer to continually place all my concerns in the Father's Hands. Thanks!

Where is my heart?
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones. Proverbs 14:30
When my heart is content and I am not striving to be like someone else or have what someone else may have, I have life. I am able to draw strength from my Father God. On the flip side, when I envy or desire something I shouldn't have it causes me to be unhealthy and possibly sick. I know personally how true this statement is having desired something that was not good for me. My desires caused me to be physically sick. Not Good! I have to continually ask myself "Where is my heart"? Am I content or am I envious ? What about you? Are you striving for something that is not good? Seek after God's heart and you will have life!
I would encourage anyone to continually seek after the things of God. He will fill you with His desires for your life and before you know it they will become your desires.
Blessings to you!!

Friends
Proverbs 27:9 Ointment and perfume delight the heart, and the sweetness of a man's friend gives delight by hearty counsel.Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friends.
I am so thankful for the friends that God has placed in my life. He has placed different ones in my life over the years and each one has left an impression on my heart. It always amazes me how different personalities can come together and form a great friendship. I appreciate the love, encouragement and sometimes correction that comes from a true friend. Being a friend does take time and effort but the end results are worth it. Are you being a true friend? Am I being a true friend? Do I let my friends speak into my life? I hope so!
Blessings to you!

Growing
Proverbs 27:2 Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger , and not your own lips. What a challenging verse of scripture! How often do I compliment myself on some of my accomplishments? Do I seem prideful and speak to highly of myself? This verse reminds me that I am to be humble and remember that anything I do should bring glory to God. I am so thankful that God uses His word to teach me about His Character.
Blessings to you!!

Be Near
Yesterday at church a song was sung by the bass player that touched my heart. Some of the words were as follows: "Be Near O God, Be Near O God, Your Nearness is to us our Good" As I listened to the song, God reminded me that He is always near, I am the one who chooses just how near He can be to me. He is always waiting for me to draw close because when I draw close there is comfort and safety. There is also wisdom and guidance. It is my prayer that I always draw near to God because as the song says, "His nearness is to us our Good."Blessings to you

Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows

Okay, so maybe there really was not lollipops and rainbows but there was definitely sunshine and lots of it. The past few days we have had temps in the high 80's and almost 90's. Way to hot for me, but it has been nice to see the sun.
Since I last posted it has been a busy couple of days. Yesterday, I got up very early to play tennis for a couple hours at the Village Glen. On my way to tennis I saw the most interesting sight. I was driving on Sheridan (a main road) and saw three wild turkeys on one side of the road while a turtle was in the middle of the road plugging along to get to the other side. At 7:15am this is a humorous sight. I truly hope the turtle made it to the other side of the road.
Tennis was great! I love playing. It is one thing that is a luxury for me. The group I do drills with changes every week, so you never know who will be in attendance. Dave, the coach, is great. He will tease you mercilessly but when you do a good job he is the first to applaud. He is one reason I like going to the Village Glen for drill clinics. Yesterday, I was paired up with a guy named Ed. I have never played with him as a partner, but yesterday we played great together. He was excited at the end of play. It is always good to have a decent partner in doubles.
After tennis, I had to head to Walmart for food for the week and goodies for my bonfire next Saturday. I also got a good friend a great birthday gift. I look forward to giving it to him. I truly hope he likes it, because I think it is the best gift.
In the evening, I met up with my friends, Bill, Karin and Jim to head down to Little Valley Speedway for an evening of dirt track racing. What an exciting evening!!!! (Pictures at a later date) Half the fun for the guys was watching Karin and I get excited about the race. One race in particular Karin and I did not want the #32 car to be in the lead. Finally the #28 car got ahead of #32 and we pretty much jumped out of our seats. Excited is not the best word to describe the thrill of watching the race. By the way, #28 did win the race and we were thrilled.
Today church was great. Pastor Wes Aarum spoke about "What is your Mindset?" The topic was in relation to hearing the voice of God, Do I really want to hear from God? The message challenged me to look at my mindset and see if I really do want to hear from God or do I want to listen to my own thoughts? Am I afraid of what He will require of Me? Thought provoking questions that do require some action.
After church Karin, Bill, Brad, Jeff and I all headed down to the Niagara River to have lunch at Mississippi Mudds and then hang out at Niawanda Park. What a wonderful afternoon! Our friends, Nate, Wendy, Tim and Kisha all joined us for a relaxing afternoon. Brad, Karin and Bill all went roller blading, Jeff took a walk and I sat and read under a tree. Later some of us played catch, frisbee and paddle ball. What a perfect day! Especially since it ended with ice cream.
Well, I have wrote a lot. I hope it was enjoyable. Blessings to you!

It is late and I should be in Bed
Well, It has been another long but good day. Work was busy for me. I had to write out some detailed instructions for a job I perform that will soon be given to another person. I can hardly wait. Really, I am happy to be handing over this job. It has been a long time in coming and I see the light at the end of the tunnel. YEAH!!! I am also learning how to process termination papers and do exit interviews. All a part of helping the HR Manager. It has been what I wanted to do, but now that I am doing it, I may have second thoughts.
Tonight was MOSAIC at the Chapel at Crosspoint. MOSAIC is a singles group for individuals between the ages of 30 to 90. Yes, it does have a wide age range but that is what makes it unique. Tonight Pastor Deone spoke about the Parable of Rewards focusing on Luke 19. I am always blessed when I listen to his teachings. I am thankful that he honors God with his teachings. Over the past year I have seen him grow in his relationship with the Lord and that encourages me in my walk with the Lord. I walk away from each teaching challenged to live my life differently and to be more Christ-like in my actions.
After MOSAIC a group of my friends (called the Crazy 8's) visited a friend of ours who came home from the hospital at the beginning of the week. Even after a few days she is starting to go stir crazy. Yet at the same time she is still tired and sore. Her name is Jackie and she would appreciate any prayer. We brought her ice cream and just had a nice time of fellowship.
God is teaching me that I am not in control of certain situations in my life. There are times I want to take control, but when I do I tend to screw things up. I am so thankful that He loves me and is always willing to let me learn (even when I learn the hard way.)
It is now even later and my eyes are very tired. Until next time, Blessings to you!

Pictures in the Post

Yes, I have pictures. I am still learning. This morning before work I was trying to put my own picture in my profile and the picture came up horizontal instead of vertical. It took me 15 minutes trying to figure out how to change the picture, then save it to a file and then try to find the file where I saved the picture. How frustrating!!!
Anyways, I am hoping this picture on the left does come out correctly in this post. It is from this past weekend, when I organized a group outing to go bowling. Seven of us came out for a fun evening. There was some competition, but Jim Dean blew us all out of the water in the second game. He teased us in the first game with a very low score, blaming it all on the floor not giving him enough glide. Everyone had a great time.

Here is Karin, Bill and Jim relaxing while they wait their turns to bowl. Yes, I made them smile for the camera. They should be use to it by now.
Jeff, Jim and Bill three of my handsome male friends. Again waiting for their turn to bowl.Below are my two sisters, Amy(the red head) and Cassandra (long blond hair) with me. It is not often that we are together anymore. I was glad they accepted my invitation to hang out with me that evening.

Karin and Cassandra looking pretty at the bowling alley. I could not be more blessed with a great sister and great friend.

Well, I guess you could say I somewhat learned how to put pictures in my post. I still have a long ways to go. Hope you all enjoyed! Blessing to you

Trying to Figure it all out
Yes, I am still trying to figure out how to set up this blog page. I may need one of my computer savvy friends to help me. It is kind of humorous how computer illiterate I am. Anyways it is fun trying to figure it all out. It may take me a couple of days to put some pictures on.
Anyways, My day went well. Was very productive at work, once I arrived there. The day just flew by. Then this evening I had a doctor's appointment which I am healthy. Praise the Lord.
I met up with my friend, Jeff, for dinner at Moe's. He treated (which is always nice.) Now it is getting late and I am very tired. So until next time. Hope you are smiling! :)

First time
Okay, so I am new at this. A couple of my friends have told me I need to start a blog, so here it is. How often I write will be determined by how busy I am. So for now this is a start. Right now I am headed to a FMLA meeting with my boss. Should be interesting! Well, I have to leave she will be here to pick me up in a few.
